That Trip To God’s Country

This is the morning of day two in Calgary. I spent day one touring downtown, taking pictures by the beautiful blue river and chatting with my family. They took me on an hour long drive to what I call God’s country. This place tucked away between the mountains in the province of Alberta is called Banff (pronounced bam.. ff). Sky blue lake, majestic mountains, and evergreen trees that form there own heaven. The place was so serene I could spend the rest of my life there swimming or trying to swim cause I can’t swim for nothing lol. Anyway peace was there, my family was there, we took pictures, talked, laughed, it was all this burnout girl needed. How I want to live became so clear to me. So, right there and then I told myself another YES! I will live the life I deserve, I will make fun memories every chance I get, I will live the life God created me to live, I will be happy and I am going to go out there and be great! Today I choose to take care of me, that is my mental, emotional, spiri...

Nap It Up A Notch

For the first time In what feels like a thousand years I took a nap during the day! It’s Sunday afternoon and my day was spent in church and taking care of my husband that is not feeling well.   A strong dose of tired came over me after I brought down stairs his used tea cup and plate from brunch. I felt a little chilly and I went under the blanket and fell asleep. The funny part is during this 1.5 hour nap I even had a dreamt that I had two birds who were the rudest. I woke up after one of them got stuck in the cage haha  😂 .  Did you know that study shows that taking naps during the day can be one of the solutions to burnout? Yup, I just read that today. It states that “when the visual cortex tires, our ability to take in new information is reduced”.    Well friends take that nap when you feel like it. If you are like me, always on the go and there is never enough time in the day to get it all done, its time to stop and do something beneficial for your...

My Abrupt Yes

Today I took myself out to lunch because that is exactly what my mental space needed! It was by far no fancy lunch just a table for 1 at the Cheesecake Factory. I was taken back by all the eyes that were on me. It’s lunch hour on a Friday so no doubt the place was packed even my waitress was stopping by my table every two minutes asking if everything was fine. No I was not lonely, no I could have just gone with my husband, instead I chose to go by myself and bring him home a plate and dessert! It’s ok to take yourself out and it’s definitely ok to please yourself, forget all the eyes and be you and eat your impossible burger like your table was full with friends or family! Last night I booked a trip out of the country and this is a trip for 1. Again it’s ok to take yourself out, it’s ok to travel alone and it’s ok to do it just because you want to! I have abruptly come to a place in my life where I will do exactly what I want to do just to please me, just because it makes me whole, jus...
